Work Completed Date: November 03, 2012 Hire Again: Yes Approximate Cost: $20,000.00 Home Build Year: 1910 Description Of Work: The 5000 sq/ft historic house needed extensive repairs (structure, siding, roofing and porch). After a consultation (discussing goals and materials I had), this company provided a complete report of cost and work to be performed with two options. After discussing what options I wanted we review what was to be performed and a contract was signed. It was wonderful that a company wanted to work with me so that I was happy with what I wanted (a project to reflect the age and design oft the house even if more work was needed). The company removed the rotted siding, supported the rotted frame, insulated, sheathed and wrapped the house, built a 8x20 porch including porch roof, sided the area of the house. With an old house it was great to see the company take their time to do things right. They were meticulous and did not take short cuts. The workers stayed late on evenings and spent saturdays and sundays to finish the job. The job did not go over budget. Member Comments: The job was top notch. I have had several contractors do work over the years and these guys were the best. The work was solid and clean. Working on old houses can cause problems. They took the time to do the job right with good materials. Communication with them was honest,clear and with no surprises. They could have taken short cuts but they didn't. I will plan to hire them for future jobs.

A message from Angie's List Alice Williams Description Of Work: Removed sliding glass doors. framed and installed 4x6 window. Insulated, drywalled and matched interior finish exactly. Installed vinyl siding to match existing siding. Entire area inside and out was thoroughly cleaned with all debris removed. Member Comments: They arrived for estimate as scheduled. Due to insurance issues the work needed to be done asap. An estimate was emailed that evening. We signed a contract the next day and work was scheduled for 2 weeks later. They arrived on the scheduled day and began working immediately. Once the sliding glass door had been removed they started to frame in for the window. Half way thru framing for the window, it bagan to rain. Despite the heaviest rain so far this year,they remained in the rain and completely water proofed the opening so we had no leakage at all inside the house. This was critical as the interior had wall to wall carpeting. The minute the rain stopped, they were right back at work. During the times they had to enter the house for interior work, the were very careful not to track any dirt in the house. They all removed their shoes and placed plastic over the carpet to avoid any mess inside. They completed installing the window and all interior work in 2 days. The siding had to be ordered so they went above and beyond to completely waterproof the exterior so there would be no problems until the siding arrived. They returned on Tuesday with the siding and it was installed to our complete satisfaction. During the entire time they worked on our home, the entire team was courteous, polite and completely professional. I would use this company again without hesitation and would recommend them to anyone who needed carpentry work done.

The rotted wood, the debris, etc., the mess your crew had was cleaned up and unless you saw what a mess they had originally, you wouldn't know that any work was done. Everything was perfect and spotless when they left! I 'll use this inovice and pictures to show everyone what a professional and reliable company does for anyone that has a "must-do-list."
